Hiya, have recently moved to Bedford from Manchester. I was a bit of a regular at all the Sheffield tracks (Bolehills, Chesterfield etc.) so i'm keen for similar down here in the south. I've checked out the Pinham track last week - it looks cool! It was a bit wet to ride though.
When do you meet up for gates / practice sessions over the winter period? Let me know i need to ride off some Christmas podge!

Hi Blake,
As a rule the club would run Sunday afternoons, but as you have said the track is to wet to ride at the moment, this is because it is on a flood plain and was under 5 foot of water last week.
Things will start to get going soon though, there will be a come try it day mid March and our round of the winter regional series on 25th March.
Once good weather gets here we run Tue eves as well.

Good to more interest MK ;D TIS a great club and track I have been racing there for many moons although only just started back up myself still trying to get the little lads riding !! with regards to riding during the winter months, for th next couple of weekends I will be going to Chicksands if you fancy coming alone I live just off the A421 near Marston ! close to you !
Chicksands has a really good little 4x track lots of jumps and stuff certainly gets the heart going !! good for technicial training ! with regards to southern racing next ones are at Dagenham and then Braintree Ipswich and also Hayes !! if you wanna come along let me know should be able to squeeze ya in email me russell@madisonbrowne.co.uk

I don't really race a huge amount to be honest - i'm a MTB'er so I do the odd 4x race and used to do the mini series Chesterfield run after gate practice on Tuesday's. I just enjoy doing gates and a bit of argy bargy with me mates on the track! I'm 27 so race senior in MTB.
I race DH a bit so i like riding BMX tracks for fitness as well. I'll definatly be coming to practice on Tuesday's and maybe Sunday's if i'm not downhilling somewhere.
Russell - i've checked out Chicksands and it's ideal for MTB's, the 4x track is a good laugh if a little short! I'm not about this weekend but next weekend i'll be up for a bit of Chicksands riding - i'll drop you an e.mail - be nice to have someone to ride with!

All wheel sizes accepted! (You may find that some of our more commercially enthusiastic members keep trying to sell you a BMX though...)
I checked the BC rulebook and you could race your MTB in the BMX Cruiser class if you wanted - 26" wheels and multispeed gears are no problem. (BMX race entry fees are way cheaper than MTB's too)
See you at the track sometime (when it's dried out a bit)

Last time I was at the sand I was watching some MTBs they were slamming it on the jumps sounded like a tool box been thrown on the floor !!! TEE HEEE !! not as smooth on the jumps as us lot long live the 20" and 24" ;D |
