Dear Riders and Riders' Families, there is a meeting regarding the future of Milton Keynes Bmx Club this Thursday, the 19th October at 8pm til 10pm.Where?The venue is The Nut and Squirrell pub at Westcroft, Milton Keynes (next to the Morrisons supermarket). Map here: www.mkweb.co.uk/mkmap/home.asp?Y_Coord=234774&X_Coord=482679&Xpt=0&Ypt=0&Scale=3&bgimage=1&icons=no&osrefs=no&panonclick=no&quickchangemap=noWho is welcome? Anyone who is interested in seeing the Club continue and who wishes to see it grow. So riders past present and future and interested parties such as riders' friends and riders families. What's to be discussed?1. The election of a new Committee for the Club. We thank Pete Kirk for his dedicate work for the Club over many years. He has recently asked to step down and so members must elect a new Committee. If anyone would like to take a post on the Committee they are welcome to discuss it. 2. How the Club is to organise and run race meetings in the future. (Anyone who would like to help in any way, even a small way, let us know please, that would be most welcome.) 3. Ideas for developing the Club. What do the riders and their friends and families want? 4. Any other issues members have can be tabled for discussion on the evening or at the next Club Committee Meeting. Hope to see as many of you there as can make it, Matt Hibbert

Ney worries I put a post on last night re a meeting at Haddenham is a small town in Bucks that has a new 4 man track built by Steve Jenks. The parish council have asked the Hawks to help open this event and provide riders, coaches and volunteers.
Sat 28th Oct: Club Session 11.00am - 2.00pm & work party Is it worth a look ?

I don't know anything about this track your post was the first I heard of it. The 4 lane tracks are normaly quite short, there used to be a great one at Radley nr Abingdon, but thats a bit lame now all concrete and tarmac. Mention it at the EGM some one there might know something about it.

I just thought I would take a look at load of the Hawkes lot are going, I thought it would give my lad an insite in to Racing and get him ready for the following week, Also noticed MK track has been put on UTUBE www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnJx2xCV9swalso noticed this on Norwich BMX site ok here are the dates for the 06/07 East Anglia winter series. 29th October Peterborough. 19th November Norwich. 21st January Royston. 18th February Braintree 18th March Ipswich. More details to come as i get them. For those of you wondering why Milton Keynes is not on the list Sadly it looks as if the Club has folded. Pete Kirk after many years of running the MK Crew is retiring and so far nobody has come forward to take the club on. Very sad news for what has been a great venue over the year's . I'd personally like to thank Pete for all the hard work and dedication he's put into MK over the years and sympathise with him that it should end in such a sad way.Lets just hope somebody decides to come forward and run the club. WE need to sort this out and get the name back on for the winter series !!! SEE you all tomorrow Russell

Little Matt, Lee et al!!
Let them talk and say what they like BUT as you both say MK BMX club will be strong as ever once the new committee is in place.
Pete was an inspiration to one and all with his committment and dedication not only to the club but to BMX in general.
I have admired this for years and can only say that if the committee can keep the club going with fresh ideas and the dedication that Pete gave it then the knockers will shut up!
See youy tonight,
Cheers,
Paul.
